Cryptocurrencies: a market that never closes, read by AI

Registration open — limited spots

An account manager will call you within 24 hours.

The crypto market trades 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Christmas Day. That is a lot for one person to follow, and exactly what an automated analysis system is built for.

Valorstead uses artificial intelligence to scan prices, volumes and volatility across selected crypto-assets and act within limits you set. You are not required to watch a chart.

What cryptocurrencies are

A cryptocurrency is a digital asset that lives on a blockchain, a shared record of transactions maintained by thousands of computers rather than by one bank or company. When someone sends a coin to someone else, the record is updated and everyone on the network can check it.

Their price comes from supply and demand, like anything traded on an open market. When more people want to buy than sell, the price tends to rise. When the reverse is true, it tends to fall. Because the market is global and open all hours, news can move prices at any time of day.

These assets are not issued or backed by a government, and holding them does not come with the protections that apply to a bank deposit. That is one of the reasons the platform asks every new user to read the risk disclosure.

Why people are interested

It trades 24/7

There is no closing bell, so movements overnight in Australia can be as meaningful as anything that happens in the day. A system that does not sleep can follow all of them.

Large trading volumes

The most traded assets change hands in very large amounts, which usually means orders can be filled quickly, though not always at the price expected.

A different kind of exposure

Crypto-assets often behave differently to shares or property, so some investors use a small allocation to diversify. Different does not mean safer.

AI as an analysis tool

Machine analysis can process more data than a person in the same time, which is useful in a market with this much activity.

Crypto-assets the platform follows

Only assets that are widely traded and supported by the platform appear here. The list can change over time.

AssetTickerIn short
BitcoinBTCThe first and largest crypto-asset by market value, often used as a reference point for the rest of the market.
EthereumETHA network on which other digital applications and assets are built, with its own asset used to pay for activity on it.
SolanaSOLA fast network designed for large numbers of low-cost transactions, popular with developers of newer applications.
XRPXRPAn asset created mainly to move value between financial institutions and payment providers quickly.
CardanoADAA network developed through a research-led process, used for transfers and building applications.

What tends to move crypto prices

No single factor explains a move, and the same news can push prices in opposite directions on different days.

FactorHow it can matter
Regulation and policyNew rules or enforcement actions in a major country can change how easy it is to buy, sell or hold, and prices often react within minutes.
SentimentFear and excitement spread quickly on social media, and crowds tend to buy after prices have risen and sell after they have fallen.
Large holdersA small number of very large holders can move a thin market simply by buying or selling a significant amount at once.
Technology and network eventsSoftware upgrades, outages and security incidents can affect confidence in a particular asset.
Wider economyInterest rate decisions, inflation figures and risk appetite in share markets have all coincided with large crypto moves.

Risks specific to crypto-assets

Sharp price swings

Daily moves of several per cent are common, and larger moves happen. The same volatility that creates opportunity creates losses.

No deposit protection

Crypto-assets are not covered by the Australian bank deposit guarantee. If an exchange fails, you may not recover what is held there.

Scams and phishing

The category attracts impersonators. Never share your password, codes or API keys, and read our fraud warning.

Rules are still changing

Australian digital-asset regulation is developing, and a change can affect how services are offered. We update our pages when it does.

How the AI reads the market

The system studies four things at once. Prices: how an asset has moved over different time frames. Volumes: how much is being traded behind a move. Volatility: how violent or calm the swings are. Trends and momentum: whether a direction is building or fading.

From those inputs it assigns each candidate action a probability, and the strategy you picked decides whether that probability is high enough to act on. When volatility becomes unusually high, the system can pause rather than keep trading through it.

This is analysis, not prophecy. The model can misjudge a situation and markets can change character without warning. Treat it as a tool that does the watching for you, not as a promise.

Prices move fast

Crypto-assets have been known to gain or lose a large share of their value in a single day. Only use money you could afford to lose, and keep in mind that past swings say nothing certain about future ones.

Who this is for

Beginners who are curious about crypto-assets but do not want to learn exchange interfaces, order types and technical indicators before they can take part. Your account manager sets you up and checks in afterwards.

Experienced participants who already follow the market and would like to make it easier to monitor, or to leave routine monitoring to a system so they can concentrate on bigger decisions.

Busy people such as shift workers, small business owners and parents, who like the idea of a diversified approach to digital assets but cannot sit by a screen at odd hours to follow it.

If you need access to your whole balance at any moment, or a loss would cause you hardship, this is not a good fit. Please also consider whether your overall financial position, including a mortgage or other debts, leaves room for an asset class that can fall sharply.

Common questions about crypto-assets
