Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Valorstead collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. Definitions
In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Valorstead, the operator of this website and platform. "You" means a visitor to the website or a customer who holds an account. "Personal information" means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.
2. The personal information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the service. It includes:
- Identity and contact details: first name, last name, email address, mobile phone number and country.
- Verification information: date of birth, address and identity documents, and a live image, when you verify your account.
- Request content: what you write when you contact us or submit a form.
- Account and payment information: deposits, withdrawals, the payment method used and the activity on your account.
3. Usage data
When you visit the website we automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you viewed, the time and duration of your visit and the website that referred you. We use this to keep the service secure and working, and to understand how it is used.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use essential cookies to make the site and forms work and to protect against abuse. We may use analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are useful. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the service may not work as intended without the essential ones.
5. Who is responsible for your information
Valorstead decides why and how your personal information is handled and is responsible for it. Service providers act on our instructions. You can contact us at [email protected], or at Level 6, 15 London Circuit, Canberra ACT 2601, Australia.
6. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiries and arrange the call from your account manager;
- open, verify and run your account, and provide the services you ask for;
- meet our legal obligations, including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws;
- detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents;
- analyse use of the service in order to improve it; and
- send you information about our services, where you have agreed to receive it.
7. Legal grounds for using your information
We collect and use personal information where it is needed to provide services you have requested, where the law requires it, where we have a legitimate business interest that is not outweighed by your privacy, or where you have consented. Marketing communications are sent on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link or by writing to us.
8. How long we keep it
We keep information only for as long as we need it. Contact enquiries are kept for up to two years. Account and transaction records are kept for at least seven years after an account is closed, because Australian AML/CTF and tax laws require this. Technical logs are normally deleted within twelve months. When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.
9. Transfers outside Australia
Some of our providers, such as verification services and cloud hosts, may handle information in other countries. Where this happens we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient protects it in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
10. When we disclose information
We disclose personal information to: identity verification and payment providers that help us run your account; IT, hosting and communication service providers; affiliated companies within our group; professional advisers; and regulators, law enforcement or courts when the law requires or permits it. We do not sell personal information.
11. Security
We protect personal information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, staff training and monitoring. No system is completely secure, so please protect your password and enable two-factor authentication. More detail is on the security page. If a breach is likely to cause you serious harm we will notify you and the OAIC as the law requires.
12. Your rights
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. You can ask us to delete information where we no longer need it, to restrict how it is used or to stop using it for direct marketing. Some information must be kept for legal reasons, and we will explain if so. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
13. Service providers
We use carefully chosen providers for verification, payments, hosting, email delivery and customer support tools. They may only use your information to perform services for us, and they are bound by contract to keep it confidential and secure.
14. Analytics
We may use analytics tools to understand how many people visit, what they read and where they come from. The reports we get are aggregated, and we do not use them to identify you personally.
15. Advertising and retargeting
We may use advertising and retargeting technologies, where permitted, to show our services to people who have visited the site. You can opt out through your browser or through the settings of the advertising platform.
16. Third-party websites
Our website may link to other sites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and we suggest you read their policies before you give them any information.
17. Children
Our services are for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and if we find that we have done so we will delete it.
18. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, and where a change is significant we will tell you by email or on the website.
19. Contact and complaints
For any question about privacy, contact [email protected]. If you are not happy with how we have handled a privacy matter, you can lodge a complaint with us under the complaints procedure, and you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
